Rainy Day Adventure

Wednesday Kylie and I were together all day long. It was our first rainy day together, we couldn't do any of my go-to, fool proof things. No sand pit (Chester Sand Pit post on 7.24, since renamed JoAnn the Snake's Park/House, depending on the day), no lake, no sand beach, pretty much the whole range of getting dirty. Nope. First we went to visit Jonathan at work (see previous post). Then we headed to the library for Story Time. It was great! She had no interest in the lady up front reading stories, but was people-watching like a hawk. Everyone was interesting. The little kids did crazy things. I wanted to take pictures, but it feels creepy to take pictures of other people's kids and then post them on a blog. Am I right? We stayed around the library, playing, for a while, then went to visit Jo at work. Here is her with all of the happiness of the day:

Note coffee for me to start the happy, followed by bling, cash, a business card, and an empty gift card with hearts on it.

After we finished visiting Jo at work, which was pretty great, I decided Kylie had been so good all day I should be that awesome Auntie I am and we will head off to McDonalds. Jo traded her bank money for a little more so she could order, then pay for her meal herself. If anyone wonders what we ordered, please see the post "What are we doing today?" Hint: it included chocolate milk.

Then, with all sunshine and lollipops, we headed home. Some weird squirrel from Spongebob toy, a full Kylie, and expectations of love and joy the rest of the day. Right. We get home, right to nap time. She not only didn't sleep, but she was noisy! Kid, at least try to fool me into thinking you are resting! Don't jump off your dresser and make the walls shake. We got through that, and now what to do with an unrested, post McyD's child? Pull my hair out, one by one. Luckily I had the car and Jo was soon done with work, so we headed off to pick her up and then drop me off on the way home. Praise the Lord, my own house.
