Just Hanging Around

I have had nothing of significance to post and Kylie has not exactly been photogenic. Her face has completely broken out from who knows what. I wouldn't be surprised if her complexion and extreme urping after every meal are related. Who knows. I'll bring both up to the doctor when we go in for her 6 week checkup/shots.

I finally got a sort-of smile on camera. Kylie has been find her voice and smiling more in response to things which is way cool. She also stares at me with great intent as if she's memorizing every detail of my face. It's just hard to get these things on camera! The other picture is Jonathan as a baby...there seems to be some similarities:-)

Kylie and I made the trek to New Ulm last weekend while daddy stayed home. Considering it's a 4 hour trip if you drive straight through, Kylie did well. I stopped to feed her once each way and she just got a little crabby at the end each time. She hasn't taken a real liking to her carseat yet, but I'm hoping that will change. Many of Kylie's great aunts, uncles, and grandparents got to see her which was nice. It was a relaxing time and she wasn't messed up when we got back. We fell right back into our routine on Monday morning.
Monday night we had some snow here and I thought the view out Kylie's bedroom was pretty cool. I still don't have any curtains on there (a little creepy for those middle of the night changes!) so it was pretty bright in there!

That's all for now!

Ahhh...baby acne. Gotta love it. Carson had that SO bad!! And he also had reflux pretty bad. The doctors I talked to claimed there was no connection between the two, but I'm not so sure. It did (the acne) finally clear up after he was about 4 months old. All of his baby pics between 1-3 months look like he's a teenager shrunk down into a baby's body...pretty sad. But just hold tight – they do grow out of it!!!

Sounds like you guys are adjusting to "baby life" very nicely. It's hard to imagine life without her now, huh? :-)

I'm glad you two are going through this first...I'm pretty sure only teenagers are supposed to get acne. But hey, maybe she'll get it all out of her system now! ;)

Baby acne is so common. I think every baby I've ever known has gotten some form of it in the very early months. Kirsten had it too, and it lasted a few weeks. Don't worry about it. Aren't those gazes she gives you awesome? It must be their way of saying "mom, I adore everything about you!"

Glad you are enjoying your first month as a mama! You're an old pro now!! Good talking to you the other day, and looking forward to seeing you real soon!
