37 Weeks and Growing....

We had our home visit this morning and it went great. My friend Anna, who will be here for the labor and birth, got to meet the midwife and doula so the whole "team" was together for the first and last time until labor kicks in. She loved how easy going and relaxed they are about things...not much gets them riled up! They checked over all our supplies and made sure we had everything. They also helped Jon figure out the logistics of which sink to use to fill the tub and the adapter needed, etc.

The baby and I are both doing fine...weight gain isn't a problem for either of us. Nojo's HR is still at 140...a very consistent child (I mis-reported several weeks back that the HR was lower...it's been 140 for almost the entire pregnancy). She's guesstimating the baby to be about 7 lbs right now so...if that is really the case, this kid could get on the rather large side. Crap.

I went to a car seat clinic last week to have the car seat properly installed and learned how to use it. So I relayed the information on to Jon and then had him strap a stuffed monkey into the seat to see if he could get it in correctly. He did it, but let's just say the kid will probably be hungry and have a messy diaper again by the time he gets him/her buckled in! We're both a little clumsy with all the gadgets, but I suppose that will get better with time. I really wish I'd taken a picture of him in the process. He then flipped the car seat upside and down and said, "So if I have the kid in right, I should be able to do this, right?"

If anybody else is wondering, as is my mother, if I think I'll go early...who knows? It's anybody's guess. I have an entire month before anybody worries (Feb 24th).

An entire month...I hope it doesn't take that long! I would have loved to watch Jon with the car seat - I can picture it in my head!
