Are You Pregnant or Just Getting Fat???

That is what people who don't know I'm pregnant are thinking. Some clothes make it quite obvious, others, not so much. Given the latest fashion trends, many people are looking pregnant and truly aren't! I've decided I'll start taking pictures each month for others' enjoyment.

I had another OB appointment today and all is well with Nojo and I. I have only gained 4 pounds which in itself is a miracle given how much I eat in a day. That is probably the only time I will report weight gain as it's bound to get embarrassing from here! I'm measuring right on and heard the heartbeat again which was the same as last time at 156 bpm. "A consistent child" is what the doctor said and was music to my ears; if only Nojo would stay that way!

Next time we will receive another ultrasound so that will be fun. We will also let the doctor know our plans for a home birth. We have met with the midwife and feel it's a good option for us and are comfortable with the decision. I'm excited (and nervous) to experience it and am glad we'll be doing it in the privacy of our own home. Circumstances could always change and we end up going to the hospital, but for now that is our plan!

For now, I'm anxiously awaiting movement of Nojo which can be anytime between now and 4 weeks from now. I'll let you all know!

Definently pregnant- not fat!! Lot at how skinny your legs are! Four pounds is a MUST to brag about.

Love the pictures, Jo! You look so cute and happy and I remember the feelings of pure joy I had when I was pregnant with my four kiddos! I agree about the comments of the current trends in fashion that make some people look pregnant who are just fat (like me!). Your pictures reminded me of ones we took when I was pregnant the first time with Aimee and Aaron. Man, I DID look pregnant, but was very skinny prior to the pregnancy. I hope you enjoy your pregnancy as much as I did and enjoy your little one(s) even more!! I am still enjoying my kids even in their adult years.

Let me get this straight - Jo Thompson has a "consistent child?" NO!! :) You look fantastic - I can't wait to get a phone call saying you felt Nojo move!

Every pound during pregnancy is worth reporting! When else in life is it okay to have your weight increase and have it be something so great that everyone feels the need to comment on it?
ie: "Wow, Jo you're getting so big! You look great."

You look fabulous and oh so cute! Every step of the way will bring a new joy to both you and Jon. It's such an exciting experience. When you do finally feel those little flutters, you will stop in your tracks and wait for the next one! It's truly awesome!!!!!! Don't fret much about putting on some pounds--it goes fast if you nurse! Take care!

Thanks for the update and the pictures! I gained so much dang weight with both my kids, but it was totally worth it and any weight you have left over afterwards you should consider "trophy weight". That's what I told myself after delivering a 10 lb.+ baby. :) You'll be so amazed when you feel Nojo move for the first time. I remember with Peyton I kept thinking I'd had some bad mexican for lunch or something...but it wasn't that! This is such an exciting time for you guys and I'm so happy that we can follow along as you experience all these new, wonderful things. Take care and keep the pics & updates coming!

One more thing...if anyone does make any dimwit comments to you about you putting on weight, don't feel bad. I had a lady I worked with ask me in January '04 (Peyton was born May '04) if I was pregnant or had just put on some "holiday weight". That was an awkward question to answer...part of me wanted to tell her I had no idea what she was talking about, but then I figured the miniature basketball under my shirt was probably a dead give away! :) Stupid people, make stupid comments I guess.
