Weekends

Another couple of weekends on the go have passed. Last weekend, I enjoyed girl's weekend at a cabin near Longville. We had a blast doing....absolutely nothing. The most productive two things I did was run and shower. I should mention we really rough it there with running water, heat (gotta love instant gratification before the fire is roaring), cable, and WiFi. We finished the trip by coming back to Duluth for a little shopping and dinner before returning to reality. Jon and Kylie stayed home and it turns out Kylie had a pretty nasty cold so they hung low and took it easy. They were able to get out for a little hike on Saturday to enjoy what is left of fall. This weekend we headed to Paynseville for a wedding. Given a toddler, a lot of driving, and an unfamiliar hotel, things went quite well. She melted down pretty bad on the way there, but once we got her to sleep it got better for the next day. The hotel was very quiet, mostly only rooms taken by others attending/in the wedding. Kylie and Jon checked out the pool of which we learned she still isn't very fond, although the hot tub passed her standards.
I managed to get lost on my run...yup, a town of 2,500 people and I couldn't figure out where I was. I'm sure the "strange lady running through town with a smile on her face" was a sight to behold for the locals. In my defense, the town is screwed up. Otherwise, Kylie enjoyed more sugar than ever....orange juice, punch (conveniently for me, it matched her dress), sugar wafers, and white bread to name a few. I know, living on the edge. Oh, and ranch dressing. Would you like some carrots with your ranch?
Congrats to Laura and Nate who grew even closer during his recent one year deployment to Iraq and Afghanistan.I think we're home for a while now! And today....well, it turns out Farve can't save the world. Bummer. HA, I've been anxiously awaiting a loss;-)

I think that top picture is the only picture I've ever seen of Kylie where she isn't clearly trying to get out of someone's arms. Calmly being held. Wow, never thought I'd see the day...
