Cuddle Bug

(These pictures are from a few weeks ago since I haven't taken any of her for a while).

We now have a really cuddly child! Unfortunately, that is our litmus test for how sick she is. Kylie is certainly battling at least one virus and we're thinking maybe even a couple of things. It all started last Tuesday with the puking incident (which I believe may have scarred Jon for life) followed by ups and downs the few days after that. Saturday, Sunday, and today have been met with whiny, presumably achy, fever, no appetite, etc. And strangest of all, she usually wants to fall asleep in my arms (especially for naps) so I KNOW she's feeling crumby. She still manages a few smiles and is overall tolerating things well which makes it easier on us. It's hard not really being able to help her with more than a dose of Tylenol and trying to keep her comfortable. And so goes parenthood...in a week I'll wish I had my cuddle bug back. For now, I'm thankful for a very flexible job so I can take care of her.

A couple observations/questions:
Where do kids as young as Kylie learn to push the food around on their tray to make it appear they've eaten? She loves "rearranging" her food by moving piles from one side to the other.

How do they learn to "fake sleep" so young? I think it's hilarious- I'll look at her while rocking her and she quickly squints her eyes closed. Strange, but funny.

Hopefully our next update will be better news!
