Lame Advice

We had another appointment with the midwife today. All is still well and we'll just continue to wait. Baby's HR is fine and she doesn't think Nojo is over 8 1/2 lbs so that is good (for me anyway). Our next appointment will be on Monday, followed by another appointment on Thursday (she likes to see people twice weekly at this point) after which we will schedule an appointment with the backup doctor for Friday the 22nd. If it comes to that, the doctor will do a biophysical profile on the baby to determine how we proceed according to how Nojo is doing in there. But perhaps it won't come down to that- we still have a lot of time between now and then (an eternity if you ask me!). Funny side note, even the midwife is nesting FOR me- apparently she's on a wicked cleaning spree in her house including the basement and spice cupboard!

Now for the fun part...I'm going to start a list of the dumb things people have told me will induce labor. Feel free to add your crazy ideas as I probably won't try them anyway:
1. Jumping jacks
2. Eat spicy food
3. Walk stairs
4. Have sex (most common)
5. Eat lasagna (perhaps this is "spicy" to some people?)
6. Consume castor oil
I'm sure there are more I can't think of right now, but these stick out in my mind.

Hopefully the next time I post, there will be a picture of little Nojo!!!

Haha! I had to laugh when I read this post because I remember being told the EXACT same things...I tried most of them and they did JACK SQUAT for me.

Another one I was told was:
"Get a foot massage" – apparently something to do with the pressure points in your feet.

There is no such thing as "natural ways to induce labor" in my opinion. Or I guess I should say nothing worked for me. Each person is different, though. I just remember being a week overdue with Peyton, running up and down the stairs to and from our nosebleed seats at the Timberwolves game with NO results!!! FRUSTRATING!!! :)

It'll happen soon enough!

Oh yeah...calf massage. I have a friend coming over tonight to give me one (she's a PT assistant). Forgot that one!!!

Then you have to wonder how much is just chance...people do one of these things and go into labor. Well, they probably would have gone into labor withOUT doing something.

The poor kid just doesn't want to come into this crazy world yet!

my grandmother--who gave birth to 12(was she nuts?) kids--says to try drinking cinnamon tea. I haven't been able to test it out yet, so I cannot vouch for its effectiveness.
