(D)ue Day!

No, she's not getting any smaller and it looks like today will come and go just as every other day has. Three questions I've been getting a lot lately:
1) When is your due date? Today (Sunday the 10th).
2) Are you dilated? Maybe, but the midwife doesn't check. Being dilated or not doesn't mean anything in the scheme of things so why bother. Women can be dilated to 2 or 3 for weeks, but all it gives is false hope that things are progressing when perhaps they're not. I personally don't care to have that number in the back of my mind. She will make an initial assessment when we call her to come after labor is established.
3) When will you be induced? It's a case-by-case decision, but if all is well with baby and I, I won't even go in to see the back-up doctor until I'm over 42 weeks, which would be about the 25th of February. Apparently the midwife has some tricks she'll pull out of her hat before we reach that point (we haven't discussed those yet)!

I decided to wake up each day with an appreciation that although Nojo isn't ready to meet us yet, it's another day that Jon and I can enjoy each other and have it be just the two of us...something we technically may never have back. We're enjoying these last few days while trying to have fun and stay relaxed about what is to come.

With that, enjoy the pictures, taken this morning at 40 weeks!

Looks like you have a long way to go in wooing a woman...don't ever tell anybody besides your favorite aunt that she's getting big!

I'm glad you are enjoying your last few days with Jon before Nojo arrives. As soon as Nojo comes you'll realize just how precious those days were, especially when you are up at 4:00am with the baby. It's totally worth it though!

So, baby didn't arrive on the big D-Day. That's okay. You still have 3 days until Valentine's Day, which is the day I believe Nojo will arrive. :) I hope you are sleeping as well as possible. Keep your mind calm throughout the day, and before you know it you'll be holding the most beautiful person you've ever met! I'm thinking of you!!

Just keep smiling, Jo! Nojo will know when it's time for him or her to make an appearance! And it will probably be when you least expect it! We're waiting anxiously, though!
