That's really what we should have named Kylie. My mom came up with that and that may just be her nickname going forward. The kid simply can't get enough chocolate and will go to extremes to get it. After a particularly rough day with her on Thursday, Jon went downstairs to grab something out of the freezer. When he called me down there, I assumed the freezer had gone out and we had a bunch of nasty food (not to mention a box full of breastmilk...aka liquid gold). Nope, instead we both got the giggles. How can you not laugh at this?
Conversely, when I ask the teacher if Kylie is doing OK, I get the "are you kidding me" look. And yesterday another adult from the school that we don't know pulled Jon aside and said how kind and respectful Kylie is. Also yesterday, she came home with this note in the backpack.
I'm not sure whether to be happy or sad. On the one hand, clearly we've taught her well enough to respect adults and mind herself when she's with others (or I'm giving us more credit than we deserve). But we pay for that at home; she clearly feels comfortable to let loose around us. I'm pretty sure I'll see some gray hairs popping up soon.
I keep thinking about a quote I heard recently..."The days are long, but the years are short." How true.
