Bambino #2 Q & A

All the questions we keep getting asked:

1) Were you trying? Do the math, folks. 7 years of marriage before #1 and another 5 years before number 2. We wouldn't want to rush into anything.....besides, have you met Kylie?

2) What does Kylie think? After an initial "you've got to be kidding me" kind of look, she has been pretty excited. Probably more so about the new bed, bedding, and room she will soon acquire, but also about being "the grown up helper." I assured her she will be changing diapers by the time she enters kindergarten (KIDDING!).

3) Are you finding out what it is? It's a baby, what else do we need to know?

4) Will we share names? Of COURSE. When he/she is born.

5) How have you been feeling? Meh, I've been better, but I really don't have anything to complain about compared to some others. We did have a scare right before Christmas that puts me at slightly higher risk of miscarriage, but so far, so good. Aside from that, pure exhaustion doesn't begin to describe what I felt for weeks. I swore there were twins baking in there zapping every ounce of energy I had (early ultrasound during the aforementioned scare confirmed ONE). I would nap, but still have zero energy. It's already getting much better and my energy is returning, thank goodness.

6) Drum roll please....are you "doing it the same way again?" (Which I have learned is often code for what the crap are you crazy granola eating, tree huggers thinking?!?!). Oh I could insert a myriad of snarky comments here, but I'll contain myself. Yes, we are planning another homebirth with the assistance and support of the same midwife (Katie). The caveat of course, is that my pregnancy needs to remain healthy and normal, with no concerns from Jon, the midwife, or myself at any point leading up to the birth. There is a time and place for the necessary interventions that only a hospital can provide; we are well aware of that and appreciate that. However, if it's not necessary, our intent is to go it again in the comfort of our own home.

I should have realized when this wasn't pink, frilly, or easily paired with tights that she wouldn't wear it. Oh well, I tried.

 Here is little bambino.

Congratulations!!! How exciting - I bet Kylie will be a great help. Ashlynn is much more helpful this time around!
