Stay Classy, Duluth

It's that time again! Everyone's favorite guest blogger has taken over. This time, it will be for two whole months. Fair warning (to Jo's family especially): it's allll about me! At the moment, ME includes a whole lot of Kylie, so everyone should be content.

Buyer beware for those who have forgotten me: I'm long winded. Especially these first few posts, I just can't help but show you everything! Also, I'm going to let my Washington posse in on the site, so there will be a lot of random Duluth facts, hints, tips, and we all know to be common knowledge, but it's a complete mystery to the entire state of Washington. So please, be patient with the new kids.

She's cute; I think she's a keeper.

My first post starts with the world famous, Small Town Parade! This parade was in Superior, WI, which is right across the bridge from Duluth. For those of you who are facebook friends, please compare Olympia's Procession of the Species with this one.

Here are some of the floats and musical participants:

All the way from Canada!

Just a portion of the bikers. Thanks to Grandma Rosie and Grandpa Jerry, Kylie was oh so familiar with this bunch!

That's right buddy, aviator sunglasses in your rockin kilt. Show 'em what's up!

It went up to one side, front, back, all up, or all super low. Uh hu!

It took her a while to figure out she needs to be a little more assertive to get the candy. For a while she tried waving to show them how very cute she was and how they should throw candy right to her. Not the most successful technique. "A" for effort.

Christmas in July!

It's not a parade without the Shriners!

A gorilla on a gas truck. I didn't get it either.

Yes, you read that right:
The World of Accordions Museum.

Chicken suit guy. Obviously.

In the end, Kylie did pretty well with the candy.

It was 90 degrees and sunny, and the crazy kid went straight for a blanket. What the what?

This clown came right up to Jonathan, knew him by name, and totally messed with him for a good five or ten minutes. I laughed so hard the whole time I almost peed myself. We all know how much Jon loves being the center of attention!

Can anyone spot the Swede?

Considering I didn't get my luggage until after the parade (thanks to a hectic travel day), I'd say I didn't look too shabby! Thank goodness Jo (about 4 sizes smaller than me) has a few "comfy" clothes I could borrow. The best part: borrowing my brother's Adidas sandals. Super classy.

Stay tuned! More to come!
