Ebb and Flow...
That is how I would describe life with Kylie and I'm guessing with most kids. Some days she eats everything we put in front of her, takes wonderful naps, sleeps all night without any whimpers, and is just overall happy. The next day she wakes up and is none of that...acts like we're feeding her poison, sleeps horribly, and has an awful attitude from dawn til dusk. Given Jon's and mine need for consistent, mundane, and predictable lifestyles, this has been a learning curve for us. It's really hard to have a good attitude toward Kylie when the first thing you hear in the morning is screaming for no (obvious) reason.
But lately we're mostly enjoying a very peaceful and content Kylie who is eating like a champ, getting adequate sleep, and waking up by talking instead of crying. She was extremely happy yesterday morning for which I was very glad because she went to spend the night at Peterson's while we celebrated at a wedding. She apparently did just as well there, too!
Today the Duluth Children's Museum had a Bubble Fest...which I bet was REALLY fun for kids a bit older. Kylie did enjoy some bubble blowing, but preferred to run into the parking lot (it was outside), eat the bubbles, and attempt to go "swimming" in the bubble solution pools. We hung out for a bit and then opted for the lakewalk to let her burn some energy off. I can't believe my next post will be in September- I could cry about that!

Oh Jo, you so perfectly described the life of a mother...our kids are older and still seem "off" every few days. It is tough to have patience with them when they're fed, clothed, bathed and loved...so WHAT are they whining about??? :) Just know you're not alone!! Sure wish we lived closer...miss you!!
P.S. Love the pics - especially the one of Jon and the girls! :)
I know I haven't been a mom for very long but I totally get what you are saying. Last night for example Avy got up 3 times to eat...usually she sleeps from 7:30pm to 6:00am! And today she seems whinny and I can't seem to make her happy! I feel your pain! But I guess the days that she is happy far outweigh the bad days and the seem to be easier to remember:-)
I love updates, I love updates!!
umm....ya know that it doesn't get any better right??? Hello? I have 2 teenagers!! and let's not even get started on the husband!!
