Busy Days

Sorry I haven't updated for a while...there might be two of you left that care! Kylie and I got back from New Ulm on Saturday afternoon and it's been crazy ever since. Luckily Auntie Ginger is around and has pretty much taken over Kylie duty without having to take her anywhere. I have officially deployed my first volunteers as of tomorrow morning. They will be heading to Detroit Lakes nursing homes to help support staffing needs for several flood evacuees. More requests may come, but that is where we've started. A couple of years on the job and I've finally got some good action out of it. Disasters are bittersweet for me...it's what I train and prepare for, but of course I don't wish they would happen!

Anyway, Kylie did wonderfully in New Ulm. She has one crabby morning after not sleeping well the first night and otherwise was extremely happy go-lucky. I have to say Grandpa Jerry seems to be her favorite!!! He's the only one she'll walk for:-) For the last few days, if you ask her to walk, she giggles and does this jelly leg thing...with two stubborn parents, we don't stand a chance with her! I heard her walking today, but she thought I wasn't paying attention (I could hear her grippy shoes trotting across the floor!). Soon enough.
Grandma Lyla will be coming Friday to take care of Kylie from Saturday-Wednesday while we travel to Dallas (I have another work trip). It's great that she will be able to stay home and be in a familiar place while we're both gone.

Finally, we got all her pictures back from Lyndsay. We love most of them and have to try picking what to order tonight. She did a wonderful job, especially for being a newbie, and really captures Kylie's spirit in still photos. Very fun! I really don't have the energy to sit and post all of them, so I've put some of our favorites into this post.
Oh, and yes, we got a bunch more snow today with more coming overnight. AGAHHHHH.

Jo-the pics are adorable!! Is your friend looking for more work? If so please let me know. Have fun on your trip and enjoy the weather. Hopefully all the snow will be gone when you get home.

Thanks for sharing the pictures...they are so cute! Isn't it amazing how fast they grow and how much they change during the 1st year? I'm glad she was a good traveler for you! That always helps!
