Lots to Share

Well, I've been delinquent in updating our blog. I got a laptop for work so I don't often turn on our desktop anymore, which is where I upload our photos to and blog from. Today is the day!

Kylie now has her two bottom front teeth. I have to think a little harder before sticking my finger in her mouth to suck on- she bites instead. She hasn't pierced my skin yet, but has definitely left bite marks.

We went to the doctor yesterday for our first "diagnosable" illness...hand, foot, and mouth disease. Who knows where she got it, but it doesn't much matter. I was wondering why she all of a sudden wouldn't eat solids (again) and Cheerios which she was really starting to enjoy were ending in crying. Now it makes sense- she was getting sores in her mouth, making eating quite unenjoyable for her. Luckily she was still taking milk OK so she didn't get dehydrated. Thursday, Friday, and Saturday were pretty miserable for her, but she's definitely better. She slept through the night last night for the first time since Wednesday for which I'm beyond thankful. I'll start solids again today or tomorrow with some better luck, I hope. On the plus side: she shouldn't get this virus again (although it's not impossible) and she's gaining weight. She's now 13 lbs 14oz and hanging right on to the 5% growth curve. The doctor said, "Well, people will think she's advanced since she's so little, but is developmentally on track." Yeah, if she only knew how often Kylie's tongue is hanging out of her mouth making her look less than advanced!

I went through all of Kylie's clothes since she is actually starting to outgrow the 3-6 month stuff. It was a half day project for me to sort through sizes between now and 2T since we've gotten so many hand-me-downs and borrowed clothes (thanks to Hilary, Aimee, Fae, Anna, and Jodi)! People are so generous, many just giving the stuff away since they're done having kids. I still need to go buy a few long sleeved tops for her as she has a ton of pants for this size, but not many tops.
Last weekend, Auntie G came to visit and brought us some wings from Buffalo Wild Wings (quite a treat for us deprived Duluthians!). Apparently the hat was too cute to pass up("BACK OFF I'm blazin' hot"). She also had a friend with who has a 9 week old puppy. Just like Dakota, the puppy thought Kylie tasted really good. It was the best behaved puppy I've ever met!

Kylie continues to get closer to crawling, although doesn't fully enjoy being on her belly. She tolerates it for short amounts of time, but much prefers sitting. Perhaps she'll be one of those bottom scooters, who knows. I'm looking forward to and dreading her moving at the same time. She gets bored with what's around her so crawling will open up her options, but with that will come the headache of her being into everything!

I'll try not to wait so long to post again!
